two for one

Just randomly came across an opportunity to present you with not one, but two delectable delights for your net enjoyment:

gabehabe.com/blog. this blog belongs to the famous [Danny Battison]. Full of random funnies about life, he has a ton of programming knowledge to share that will blow your mind. With a recent string of posts on Android development, you'll be in geek heaven in no time.

As if to compliment that beautiful blog, we have a twin star in the form of cupcakehax0r. Created (and obviously maintained by) a person that uses the name echel0n, you'll find more programming knowledge to sink your teeth into.

honestly, these guys are so smart that i feel dumb just typing in the address, but do check them out :)

Invisionfree Shoutbox

I had a time looking for something that integrated into my actual forum well, but I found this tutorial and that helped me immensely.

tone matrix

This cute chunk of script makes a set of squares. Each clicked square makes a sound. Combining the squares allows you to make music of all sorts (which is, of course, raucously fun).

Try it.

foreign language issues

I am a big fan of foreign language. Seriously. I am learning japanese for fun.

In any case, I have a hard time finding thriving communities to learn
with other people and when I find one, it's huge and hard to get a
response when I have questions. For the record, I usually check the
older threads, but on large communities, those number into the
thousands and that becomes time-consuming and visually (not to mention
mentally) taxing.

On the other hand, if I find a small group of people and suggest the
idea of starting a foreign language thread, it's either considered
spam or just ignored and downplayed; "We're in America" or "We speak
English here" or whatever. Even if I do post a "hey, let's try talking
about a foreign language" thread, it gets no response.

For that reason, I hate English most of the time. I use it, I have
been raised and bred in it, but I hate the attitude about it that
people have like it's the best language ever. For the record, there
are more people in the world speaking Chinese than English.

In any case, I want a place that has things accessible to someone like
me who likes foreign languages because I know I can't be the only
person who wants to learn them or practice them or even know how many
there could be for me to learn.

It would do us a lot of good if America weren't so lazy about
languages, anyway. I wish I where you were. I would love to be
surrounded by people who thought something about languages other than
"We speak 'murcan 'round hur!"

My friends that I live with are wonderful about that sort of thing
(most of the time), but outside of this house, I am starving for
anything resembling culture aside from Wal-Mart purchased pocky....

What do you guys think?

Censored-Gaming

I wanted to post a blurb about this website for a while and I finally got to have a short interview with the head of the site about who he is and what he and the CS crew do.

Without further ado:

:: Bio

Ever since i was about 5, i got introduced to the wonderful world of computers. I quickly learned the basics, even at a young age and got started on m first game ever! Doom 95. Not much of a game now, but it is still a classic. I mastered that over the course of the next two years. Since then it has just been a thirst to learn. I cant even begin to describe to you how many countless hours i have spent tinkering with computers inside, and out. It's been a constant learning experience, every day it would seem, i learn something new. Now that I'm older, and at a much higher plateau then i was then, i spend my time building websites and managing and inspiring Counter-Strike 16 community called Censored Gaming. Both the community and i have big dreams in the near future. Things necessary for that to happen are falling into play. This is what do, and what i love. As a wise man once said, "If you have to work everyday for the rest of your life, but you love what you do, then its not really work..". Follow your passions, and more importantly, your heart.

:: About CS

Censored Gaming is a collaboration of ideas and dreams that have led a close group of friends to combine them all in something we all love and enjoy. The purpose of Censored Gaming, is to provide a warm eel. A place users can come back and be a part of, for lack of better words, a family. We aim at diversity of preference, but we still are based around Counter-Strike. Our webiste acts as a portal for people to be a part of, learn from, and interact with on a braod scale, while our servers provide more of a comfort feel based on the persons preference.
